Lighthouse Labs (LHL) is looking to hire an exceptional Data Transformation Manager to our Data team, who will be pivotal in reshaping our business to be data-driven and focused at all levels of the organization. Reporting directly to the Head of Data, our Data Transformation Manager will support LHL in making objective and data-informed decisions as we prepare to scale for our next stage of growth.  This role will be a senior position with a large mandate to work across our organization to transform our business processes using our data systems, gather and clearly communicate data requirements, and improve our company’s data literacy. 


While we have the start of our technical infrastructure in place, such as a data lake and data analytics/science team, we are looking for the Data Transformation Manager to bridge the gap between our technical and data teams with various stakeholders across the company, including a focus on change management and communication. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong data agility and proficiency, and experience leading similar projects with an emphasis on change management.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Gathering data and reporting requirements from stakeholders across the company
  • Developing a clear delivery roadmap for the team to execute;
  • Measuring and improving the data literacy and data culture of our company, including a developing a comprehensive change management plan;
  • Opening up our data for self-service, which involves ensuring the balance between data privacy and security;
  • Work with our data analytics and engineering teams to ensure the correct processes are implemented, and data quality/consistency policies meet internal standards;
  • Work with stakeholders to set data reporting and visualization policies.


What we need from you:

  • Amazing communication and interpersonal skills: You should be able to connect and tailor your messaging to fit your audiences, including ability to properly communicate data at the right complexity level;
  • Previous experience successfully running organizational change projects of a company of our size (~150 employees), ideally with experience that maps to data transformation;
  • Strong data skills, ideally including experience with BI tools and basic knowledge of SQL. Knowledge of Python/Jupyter is not required, but would be considered an asset
  • Strong digital literacy skills, including understanding the concepts of data lake, APIs, ETL;
  • Detail and planning focused;
  • Familiarity with project management approaches and phases of the project lifecycle is an asset.
